Inspiration Board: July 2020
Here’s a list of what has been inspiring me lately:
Flora in situ by Rosalina Serup. This series of photographs plays with the symbolism of flowers by placing them in new contexts to create new meanings. The photographs are beautiful. I especially love the colours in them.
Outdoor Voices Bucket Hat by Yushan. I haven’t stopped thinking about this hat since I first saw it on Warde, a slack community for creatives started by Rachel Nguyen. Yushan upcycled her OV tote into the cutest bucket hat!
Modern 70s fashion Tiktok videos by wisdm8. Recognized by Vogue as the best dressed guy on Tiktok, Wisdom Kaye creates stunning outfits, and flaunts them through engaging short videos on Tiktok. I’m also obsessed with the way he walks? I can watch him walk all day haha.
Fashion and lifestyle videos by Dasha Kim. Dasha Kim’s videos are now a favourite. She makes fashion and lifestyle content like no other influencer I know. Her videos are so fashionable, yet distinctly unpretentious. I especially love her videos in Bishek.
Journal by Sans [ceuticals]. I stumbled upon Sans [ceuticals]’ website just the other day. I instantly fell in love with the web design of the journal section. It’s really soft and simple. I’m always on the lookout for cool websites and blogs!
Colourful minimal branding by VYBES. I’m a big fan of simplicity, and striking colours. When I first saw a picture of VYBES’ boxes, I had to search up the brand. In a blog post they published, they said that their minimalist identity “was born from a reaction to everything else found in the health beverage aisle”. Their visual identity truly stands out.
Quarantine vlogs in San Diego by Elena Taber. I’ve been watching Elena’s videos for a few years now. Her recent vlogs in San Diego follow her everyday life working from home and taking breaks at the beach. Elena’s videos make me want to move to a beach town, and listen to surf rock all day.
Mug with the coolest handle by Rachel Saunders. In the world of ceramics, Rachel Saunders is an artist that you should know. She creates objects for intentional living (love that!). She recently posted this mug (that’ll be released in August) on her Instagram.
Show-in-a-box by Loewe. Fashion brand Loewe created a box for their SS21 show with a layer of contents that followed an hourly agenda for 24 hours. According to their website, the show-in-a-box is a classic archive box, which translates the entire creative process into a sensorial experience, from the initial inspirations to the show setting. So creative!
